RIP PPD Installation
This disk contains postscript printer descriptions for your PostScript RIP. To Install these ppd's on your Mac, you must copy them into the Printer Descriptions Folder inside the Extensions Folder. If you do not have this folder, please create it.

After installing the ppd's, open the Chooser. In the Chooser, select a LaserWriter. Make sure Background Printing is turned off and AppleTalk is active. When the PostScript Rip appears on the menu, select it and click on Setup. A setup menu will then appear. In this menu select More Choices. Several more choices will appear. One of these choices is Select PPD... Click on this button. A list of available ppd's will appear. Select the PostScript RIP ppd that matches your printer. Click on the OK button and then close the Chooser. You should have several new page sizes available to you under page setup in your applications now.

For Quark Xpress Users -
Quark should automatically update it's printer drivers on start up. This will create a temporary PDF for each of the PostScript RIP ppd's. You can select this PDF in Quark in the usual manner. For custom page sizes laserwriter 8.3.4 or 8.5.x is recomended. Use Generic the generic PDF's in Quark or custom page sizes won't work correctly.
